It appears that in some circles the question of Pakistan's "image" is considered more critical than it is. Pakistan is known to be a moderate country built on a secular foundation by Jinnah. There is some amount of misinformation based on Pakistan's historical involvment in Afghanistan and it's perceived presence in the so called Ummah. But the fact is that most Pakistanis are moderate people with balanced ideologies. They value their quest for a prosperous individual life.
The question of Ummah is very interesting. Pakistan is gradually stripping the extraneous facade of an "Islamic Republic." It's wonderful to see how the Pakistani media is opening up with time, and freeing itself from a government hold. The voice of the people of Pakistan is obviously in support of a country which is a free republic first and foremost.
